I am one of those people who like watching documentaries that talk about strange animals, aliens, mythical creatures and so on. So just as all of you reading this I, too, like to discover and find new things.

But I am not an explorer, I am a journalist and because I can’t discover strange creatures living in unimaginable places all over the world, I decided to write about them instead. So without further delay, I would like you to join me in this exploration, as today we are going to look at some of the most convincing photographs of mysterious creatures discovered in the jungle.

Although, before we begin, I would ask you not to criticize anything you read based on your own opinion or knowledge as most of this, if not all of them, are only based on the public’s point of view. Let’s begin!

15. Straight out from a myth

I decided to start out with one of my personal favorites. Even though the photo isn’t of good quality, you can still clearly see the human-like creature passing through the river. Initially, it looks like it has two horns on top of his skull but if I had to say what it reminds me of, I would probably go with a satyr.

Satyrs were mythical creatures that had the body of a goat and the upper torso, including head, of a human plus the horns and the fur. The photo is too pixelated but it looks like it’s holding something, maybe its pray or a baby. This picture is very Internet-famous and has yet to be explained.

14. Bigfoot

If you do a quick search on Google for “Bigfoot,” you will come up with thousands of pictures. However, this is a somewhat older one which means that the possibility of using Photoshop or any other image manipulation program is out of the picture. Still, the whole thing could be staged.

But it really doesn’t look like it’s fake, even though it probably is. People say that a legend is born of something real. There have been many hundreds, if not thousands, of reports stating people have seen what appeared to be the mythical creature called Bigfoot. Maybe the myth is true after all.

13. A real alien!?

Back in December of 2010, a viewer of the channel NBC 33 sent this image to them, stating that he believed this was a real alien. Seriously speaking, the creature doesn’t appear to be human even though the general body structure fits ours. On top of the image, there was some video footage but there is the possibility that was staged or from entirely another source.

Some people said the creature was a fallen angel while others believed it to be a spawn of the devil due to its hideous appearance. There are still people trying to find out what it really is but no further evidence has been found yet.

12. What the hell is that!?

When I first saw that image I thought to myself, “That looks too good to be real” and by good I mean the picture’s angle, lighting and focus, not the actual subject of the photo. Then I did some further research and found out that people who have seen this particular photo believed the creature to be Chupacabra.

The name means “to suck a goat” and people in North America believed that it sucks the blood out of goats. Only the face and hands are visible but it seems like the creature is relatively small in size. Because of that, there is the chance this photo could actually be real. I wonder what happened to the person who took the picture.

11. Grumpy old man

This isn’t about a quick photo of a huge creature captured. No, this image was actually captured by people in a village near a big forest. Many believe it to be a deformed baby of some kind of animal that was left to die. Some thought it might be a demon or something diabolic.

What we know for sure is that wasn’t the result of photo doctoring. This happened for real and people didn’t know what to do with it. It is unknown who took care of it or if it was released back in the wild. Chances are it died within hours, due to the deformities in its body.

10. Not your regular puma

This is one of the various consecutive taken photos of this creature. At first, most thought it to be some kind of a baby cat but a big majority of people noticed some specific characteristics that cannot be found on the species.

Bay cats have a thick musculature and abnormally long tails but rarely on that level. Still, chances are it indeed is a bay cat, but we are humans and one of the things that intrigues us the most is trying to find the existence of the supernatural. If you are someone who believes in the supernatural then you’ve come to the right place as this whole article is targeted towards you.

9. National Geographic

The reason this photo looks so clear and of high quality is because it was actually captured by one of National Geographic’s own photographers. At first, they thought it was a rare species but after returning to their studio and taking a closer look, it turns out it was an animal never seen before.

Judging by its appearance, it looks like some kind of ape but it could be something entirely else. Well, they left it there undisturbed so I guess we will never know what it really was, as chances are it has moved to a different place a long time ago.

8. Bigfoot plus a goat

That photo looks too damn good for it to be staged. The creature we can clearly see appears to be a combination of Bigfoot and a goat. This creature may not seem aggressive to you, but there are many myths and legends around the world depicting something like this.

Needless to say that the same people telling these tales also believed the creature to be capable of killing animals as well as humans too. I guess it’s a good thing the person who took the photo didn’t try going near it because if he had, then chances are we wouldn’t be seeing this image right now.

7. War for the planet of the apes

Yes, the reason I gave that name to this particular entry is that I recently got to see the latest Planet of the Apes movie. But seriously now am I really the only one here who thinks that creature looks like an ape?

The mysterious animal seems to be disturbed by the flash of the camera and shouts towards the photographer with an aggressive look on its face. However, we are looking at the photo now so I guess the photographer wasn’t attacked. Unless it killed him and someone else found the camera afterward. What’s for certain is that isn’t an ape in any way and I am sitting in my chair right now dying to know what it is.

6. Apocalyptic scenery

In case you didn’t know that about me, I am a hardcore gamer. One of my favorite games is Fallout 3 and in that particular game, there is a thing called the “Centaur” which is something between an animal and a human and I swear the thing in the picture above looks a lot like it.

A spider-like body with a human head. Yeah, it sounds like a usual thing to see in a post-apocalyptic world like in the game. Even the shadows look very real, so I am kind of worried this creature may not be as fake as it originally appears to be.

5. I have no idea what that is

I mean that. Neither I nor the person who took this photo, or even anyone else on this planet who has seen the picture suspects even remotely what that creature is. It looks like some kind of a black cow or sheep but we really don’t have the best possible angle here.

Initially, I thought about not including this photo in this list but due to its abnormal and mysterious nature, you can clearly see why I had to. No one knows what it may be and most likely we will never find out what this creature is. It doesn’t look to be the result of photo manipulation but experts will always be “experts” so I guess we will never really know for sure if it is the outcome of a Photoshop session or not.

4. The devil!?

The reason I am calling this the devil is because the people who actually took the photo in the first place thought it to be the devil as well. The Jersey Devil is based on a 1800s tale where a witch, while delivering her 13th baby, appealed to the devil. When the newborn finally came out, it transformed into something that looked very similar to a demon.

Since then, countless people living around this area of Southern New Jersey have reported listening to the sounds the demon makes and seeing it or poor animals that have become its prey.

3. Goatman

It looks fake, right? But the thing is that this picture is so old that there wasn’t any photo manipulation software back then. Not even computers. I don’t know about you but to me, it looks utterly terrifying.

The human-like goat appears to be curious, if not afraid, of the camera’s flash blinding it. Fortunately, it doesn’t look menacing so I guess the photographer wasn’t attacked by it after snapping the photo. This is one of my favorite pictures around the Internet when it comes to mysterious unidentified creatures mainly because there is a big possibility of it being real and not fake due to how old the picture is. Now that I think about it, that’s pretty creepy!

2. Another demon!?

Many years ago, farmers were working in a field of crops when they noticed the body of this creature lying dead nearby. Not knowing what this “animal” was, they were really confused and decided to take a picture of it so that experts could later identify it.

Little did they know that there isn’t actually a known creature that looks like that. It may be an alien, a demon, or a fallen angel. It looks like Gollum from the Lord of the Rings movies and some people who saw the picture even refer to it as Smeagol which was the name of Gollum’s evil alter ego. No further information is publicly known about this picture or the creature in it.

1. Can’t be described

If someone asked me to describe it, I would tell them doing something like that is close to impossible, if not entirely out of the question. Let’s give it a try, though. I would say that it probably looks like a hybrid of a lizard, a crocodile and a possum. The people who found it asked experts to identify it but they couldn’t.

It may be a new species or an alien of some sort. The only thing we can say for sure is that this creature doesn’t look like anything else we have seen in our lifetime. Maybe it’s some kind of deformed animal but I guess we will never really find out. However, it still remains one of the most mysterious unidentified creatures ever found in a jungle around the whole world!
