But the question that arises in people’s mind is do they exist? Are they really with us right now or it’s just our mind playing twisted tricks on us. Scientists have done several types of research, but their evidence has not been materialized. 15. The brown lady of Raynham Hall
The suspicious and scary image of the brown lady of Raynham Hall is one of the most popular and mysterious photos ever taken. In September 1936, this photo was shot by the photographers documenting the 17th-century Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England, for Country Life magazine. The photographer, Captain Huber Provand, captured the image as a request from his assistant, Indre Shira. While the photographer’s head was inside the focusing cloth (a common feature on cameras at that time), his assistants saw a veiled form gliding down the house’s grand oak staircase. When he removed the cloth to capture it, it was gone. However, the developed picture revealed something very shocking. It was the ghost of a Lady thought to be Dorothy Townshend. The lady had died of smallpox in 1726 but her ghost has been seen often since the early 1800s.

Graveyards are often visited but they become spookier when they are visited alone at night. Lots of myths surround graveyards at night, which is why it wouldn’t seem like a clever idea to visit a graveyard at night to any sane person. The Internet was haunted by an image taken in 1947. The image shows a child appearing over a grave. It was taken by Mrs. Andrew when she visited the graveyard to see her daughter’s grave. She observed the ghost child during film development. She said that the child was unknown, and it was not her daughter in the picture. Even though there were some children’s graves nearby, but the child in the picture was not recognized by anyone.
13. The Back Seat Ghost
You might have seen a very common scene in horror movies where ghosts haunt the drivers from the back seat of their car. Have you ever imagined yourself in that situation? The photo shown was taken in 1959 by Mabel Chinnery. The picture was of her husband who was accompanied by the ghost on the back seat. The ghost was recognized to be her dead mother-in-law. Many paranormalists believed it was a real image of her dead mother-in-law while others thought it to be merely a case of double exposure. Mr. Mabel Chinnery’s wife captured this photo while they were on way to the graveyard to visit Ellen Hammell, the mother of Mr. Mabel.
12. Tulip staircase ghost
The famous Tulip Stairs image was taken in 1966. When the image was captured, the photographer had no idea what he had captured until the photo was developed. Rev. Ralph Hardy, a retired clergyman from British Columbia, captured this photo during his visit to the Queen’s House at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. There, he took this picture of a fascinating spiral staircase which was known as the Tulip Staircase. Soon after, he got the picture developed to show off to people around him. When he was showing it to his friends, they asked him about the mysterious person on the staircase. This left him surprised since there was no one there at the time the picture was taken. The picture was also examined by experts. including some from Kodak. all of whom maintained that it had not been tampered with.
11. Lorde Combermere
The photo shows a man whose funeral was taking place 4 miles away from the location where the photograph was taken. Lord Combermere was killed by a carriage in 1891 in London. This picture was taken in the Combermere’s library which was located inside Lord Combermere’s house. When it was developed, it showed a man sitting in the chair whose resemblance to Lord Combermere was uncanny. The fact that makes this picture spooky is that the legs of the mysterious man are missing, Lord Combermere legs had been badly damaged in the accident that took his life.
10. Freddy Jackson
Dead or alive, some people hate to miss a photo session. Freddy Jackson, who served as a mechanic in the Royal Airforce, was tragically killed by an airplane propeller around 1919. On the day of Freddy’s death, a photo op was held of his squadron. Freddy Jackson, as the story goes, did not want to be left out, so even after death a glimpse of his face can be seen behind the 4th airman on the left in the back row. This picture was not revealed to the public until it was leaked by the retired officer Victor Goddard, who was in Freddy Jackson’s squadron.
9. Madonna of bachelor’s grove
This paranormal picture was taken by the Ghost Research Society during their spooky visit at the Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery at Illinois. Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery is known to be one of the world’s most haunted cemeteries. The group simply took a photograph and the results were unexpected. A woman with a white gown was seen sitting in despair on a tombstone. In addition to this, the Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery has been the site of hundreds of different strange supernatural cases, including strange sights and sound and even glowing balls of light. Coming back to the woman, the woman is wearing a dress that was considered to be out of date and parts of her body are surprisingly transparent.
8. The girl in the fire
A man named Tony captured this photograph of a girl standing at the Wem Town Hall which was burnt to the ground. The violent heat of the fire meant that no man or woman could stand so close to the fire, so the girl qualifies to be a supernatural entity. People believe the girl to be Jane Churn who set fire to her home and much of her town in the 1600s and is said to haunt the whole area. Regardless of the photo, people’s experiences in the past and after the fire conclude that something mysterious was up at the Wem Town Hall.
7. The boy on the farm
In late 2008, a photographer was taking some photos of a farmhouse to show his clients who were a soon-to-be-wed couple whose wedding was to take place there. Examining them later, the photographer was amazed to see the mysterious face of a boy on the farm land. He was certain there had been no children present during his shoot. The couple later investigated the presence of the boy, concerned about their wedding venue. They asked several questions to the staff about the boy. Their queries concluded that a boy who was dressed in white night clothes had been haunting the rural properties. The picture was taken by Neil Sandbach. The couple decided to change the location of the shoot, because who wants a spooky boy staring at them in the background on a beautiful wedding picture?
6. Amityville Ghost
This photo is taken by one of the most famous paranormal investigator teams Ed and Lorraine Warren. The boy in the picture is most likely the ghost of a nine-year-old John Defoe. John Defoe, along with his family of six that consisted of his brother, two sisters and parents, were killed by his elder brother Ronald at their house in Amityville. The picture was taken by Ed and Lorraine Warren using a camera that took infrared pictures at night automatically with time intervals. This murder was also an inspiration for the Amityville Horror books and the movie franchise, both of which became an enormous successes.
5. The Ghost From Toys ‘R’ Us
The Toys ‘R’ Us in Sunnyvale, California is said to be haunted. It is said to be haunted by the ghost of a man named Johnny Johnson, seen in this photo, who was definitely not present at the location when the photograph was taken. The legend has it that Johnny had feelings for a girl named Elizabeth who was the daughter of a plantation owner located on the Toy ‘R’ Us site. It is said that as a result of an unsuccessful love life with Elizabeth, Johnny cut himself and eventually bled to death. Rumor has it that Johnny used to roam in the aisle of Toys ‘R’ Us searching for her.
4. Grandpa’s Ghost
Denise Russel took this photograph of her beloved grandmother. She lived alone but had to be moved to an old age home at the age of 94 when her mind started weakening. On the 17th of August, 1997, a picnic had been arranged for the residents of the old age home and their families. This was when the photo was taken. It was later developed and circulated among family members, but nobody noticed the white old male standing in the background until Christmas Eve in 2000, almost 3 years after the photo has been taken. When noticed, the Russel family was more than astonished to see that the white old male standing behind her was a splitting image of their grandfather who died way before the photograph was taken.
3. Sefton Church Ghost
This picture was taken at the Sefton church in Liverpool. There were two photographers present in the church at the time and neither of them recall having seen a single human being at the church. When the photographers viewed the photograph, a man was clearly seen wearing a black uniform who was identified as a former church minister. The photo immediately made headlines at the town’s newspaper and the church became known as the ghost church because of the spooky being that had been captured on film. Later, the church was sanctified by fellow ministers and was used for holy events once again.

In the south of San Antonio, Texas lies a roadway and railroad intersection that is the site of a tragic accident. In the late 1930s, a school bus full of children was passing over the railroad tracks when it suddenly stalled. As the driver tried to speed the bus over the tracks, a train sped forward and smashed into it. The driver and ten children died instantly. Widely held beliefs maintain that the ghosts of these children still linger around the area and help cars pass over the tracks so that no more accidents occur. Many paranormal enthusiasts who have experimented with this theory have tried slowing their cars down or shutting off the engine a few feet away from the tracks, only to find their car being pushed and sped across the tracks on its own. 1. The Ghosts Of Watertown
Lots of ghost stories emerge from horrible tragedies or accidents that have occurred in a place or town. A similar story goes around for the ghosts of James Courtney and Michael Meehan, both of whom were sailors aboard a cargo ship. Apparently, they were busy cleaning one of the cargo tanks on the ship when a poisonous gas entered the tank, leaving them with no time to escape and resulting in their deaths. As it was the norm back in the day, people would be buried out at sea and both James and Michael received a similar treatment. Since their burial, the crew of the ship started to notice apparitions in the water during their trips and a photo was captured showing what seems like the faces of two men drowning in the sea.
