She ends up settling on Matthew McConaughey’s character who thinks he has the skills to get someone to fall in love with him in 10 days. Have you already guessed how things end? Good. You’ll have plenty of time to makeout and get naughty during the middle parts of the movie.
17. I Love You, Man
This movie is more bromance than romantic comedy, but that’s what’s so great about it. We also guarantee that any woman will get a little excited over watching Paul Rudd do his thing. He’s really freaking cute and charming. He’ll do half the work for you. I Love You, Man was released in 2009 and is the story of a guy who has no guy friends to ask to be in his wedding party. Well, it’s also the perfect way to feel a little closer to someone. Laughing at the same stuff is bound to get you both to be a little bit more open with each other. The 1999 comedy is one of the funniest cop comedies out there. It follows the story of a former convict (played by Martin Lawrence) who pretends to be a cop. He stashed some loot years prior and the location has become a cop station. We guarantee you’ll both be cramping up watching this movie.
15. Bridesmaids
Show your date that you think women are just as funny as men (because, newsflash, they are) by putting on Bridesmaids. The movie tells the story of a woman who’s life is a bit of a mess. She finds out her BFF is getting hitched and she’s the maid of honor. Getting asked to be part of a wedding party is not always an honor. Sometimes it costs big bucks. The movie is filled with funny scenes that are sure to make your sweetie laugh. If she doesn’t, maybe reconsider your next date. A sense of humor is important in a partner and this movie is hella funny.
14. Scream
Okay, so sometimes the funny route isn’t the way to go if you want to get hot and steamy. You might want to get you and your date’s adrenaline pumping. An action movie might do, but a horror movie is sure to get you and your honey’s blood pumping. The perfect option? Scream, a horror classic. You don’t want to choose something that’s too gory or creepy, then you’ll just seem weird. Scream is the perfect mix of black comedy, horror and mystery without being too over the top. There’s a reason it’s a cult classic. So get a big blanket and snuggle up while you pop in this scary flick.

It’s a definite feel good tale and positive thoughts and feelings are sure to be conducive to help the two of you get closer together. Get a big bowl of popcorn and snuggle together on the couch to watch this critically acclaimed film.
12. The Notebook
Okay listen, the Notebook is not for the faint of heart. It’s very dramatic and if you watch it through to the end, you will cry. You will both cry. If you’re both sensitive creatures, this might just work. You might cry in each other’s arms and end the night with passionate lovemaking. You might also be too sad to deal with life so make your choice wisely. The love story is based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks. It’s not Oscar material, but it’s a widely popular romantic drama. Sneak a box of tissues next to you and your hun and don’t be afraid to let your soft side show.
11. Love Actually
Love Actually is a film best saved for the Holidays. We also guarantee that both of you have already seen it, so enjoy your favorite parts and save the rest for making out and hanky panky. The movie, released in 2003, follows several storylines that have to do with love. The 10 storylines are all interlinked, in a Crash-esque fashion but without the sob inducing content. It’s a feel good, lighthearted movie that will make you want to bake Christmas cookies and go carolling. Since it’s release, it’s been criticized as a sexist film that portrays men as stalkers and harassers. Yeah, that’s pretty bang on. But since you’ve already both seen it, just put the DVD on, enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and get naked.
10. Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
If you’re looking for a hot movie that will get your both in the mood, this is it. We didn’t pick the original Dirty Dancing, though. Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, is way hotter, in our opinion. The music is way better, the dancing is sexy AF and it’s got Diego Luna. *swoon* The movie takes the plot of the original but it’s set in Cuba during the Cuban Revolution. Full of sexy Spanish accents and close-body dancing, it’s going to make you both a little flustered. If it’s summer, you might want to turn up the A/C. You’ll need it.
9. The Proposal
The Proposal is a romantic comedy that features Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Two people who are too good looking for their own good. It’s a goofy comedy that follows the story of a Canadian woman who might be deported from the U.S.A because of an expired visa. Uh oh. The movie was released in 2009, so this plot had a much more lighthearted air than it might if it were released today. The woman (Bullock) decides to rope her sexy assistant (Reynolds) to pretend to be her fiancé. Of course, things get hot and steamy between them and let’s hope they get hot and steamy for you and your date too.
8. Titanic
Look, this movie is three freaking hours long. You’re not going to pay attention the whole time, guaranteed. Sure, it’s a tragic movie, but it’s also got its share of hot and steamy scenes. The love story is super passionate and there’s absolutely no way someone can watch this movie and not feel like jumping someone else’s bones. Jack and Rose are the couple we all want to be, except for that fateful ending. But their love knows no bounds. When Jack paints a nude Rose, it’ll get you both in the mood to undress and maybe even inspire you to paint each other. Hey, it’s the perfect activity for next date night!
7. The Princess Bride
This goofy romantic comedy film is based on a novel, of the same name, released in 1973. The film, directed by Rob Reiner, was released in 1987 and still holds up today. The love story between Princess Buttercup and farmboy Wesley isn’t the steamiest. But the cute and quirky adventure to save Princess Buttercup will no doubt entertain you and your date. The best part? Mandy Patinkin as Inigo Montoya. Can we just say how hot he is in this movie? That Spanish accent, tho. Young Patinkin can get it. And let’s hope you can too after enjoying this comedy with your sweetheart.
6. Safety Not Guaranteed
Impress your lady friend with your knowledge of independent films. If you’re not sure what indie film you should choose, we’re here to help. Safety Not Guaranteed is a good choice. It’s a romantic comedy with some sci-fi mixed in. The film was released in 2012 and follows the story of a young intern to gets to know a guy who is seeking a partner for time travelling (to the past). The movie is heartwarming and will leave you thinking. It’s not heavy handed in anyway and we’re sure you and your date will enjoy this rom-com directed by Colin Trevorrow.
5. 50 First Dates
This is probably one of the best Adam Sandler movies out there. It’s goofy, but not too goofy so if your date isn’t an Adam Sandler but you are, you’ll both be happy with this selection. The film follows the story of Lucy (played by the ever charming Drew Barrymore) who suffers from a rare form of amnesia. Each day, her memory resets. It’s a tragic affliction. Every day, the man who seeks to win her over, needs to charm her again. It’s pretty much the most romantic thing ever. You might shed a few tears, but you can softly wipe them away from each other’s cheeks.
4. Pretty In Pink
If you prefer to watch something from the 80s, Pretty In Pink is the best choice for date night. The romantic comedy, released in 1986, follows the story of Andie (played by Molly Ringwald) who’s dealing with her life as an unpopular teenage and begins to date one of the boys from the popular crowd. Even if the movie ends in a ridiculous way and the wrong guy gets the girl, it’s still worth watching. You’ll feel nostalgic for the 80s, even if you weren’t alive then. You’ll feel for Andie and her dilemma and you and your date might just feel a ilttle more romantic after finishing this flick.
3. Cruel Intentions
Looking for something a bit steamier? Sexier? Pop in the Cruel Intentions DVD. The 90s drama features Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon. It follows a group of rich teens (they really look like full grown adults and behave as such) who live in New York City. If you’ve never seen it, we don’t want to ruin it, so we won’t reveal any important plotlines. But rest assured, this movie is filled with hot scenes and the sexual tension is palpable. It might even start to seep out from the screen into your living room. You’ll both feel pretty sexy after watching this film.
2. Magic Mike
Whether it’s the original Magic Mike or Magic Mike XXL, either one is bound to get your date in the mood. Some women don’t love the idea of male strippers but the mere fact that Channing Tatum is taking his clothes off is enough to get a woman to fan herself. The original film was released in 2012 and follows the story of a young man who gets into stripping to make some money. It’s actually very loosely based on Tatum’s earlier life experiences. Yes. He used to strip. If you’re comfortable with your sexuality, and we hope you are because there’s nothing hotter, we suggest snuggling up with your honey to watch some hot men gyrate.
1. Y Tu Mamá También
This is one of the sexiest movies on this list. It’s hard not to get a bit worked up after watching Y Tu Mamá También. The Mexican drama was released in 2001 and tells the coming of age story of two young men. Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal play the two young men who head off on a road trip with an older woman. Sexual tension is high, the sex scenes are hot and the story is deep and introspective. If you want to impress your date and show her you like foreign films, we think this is a good pick. We think you’ll both enjoy it.
