17. I Love You, Man

9. The Proposal

The Proposal is a romantic comedy that features Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Two people who are too good looking for their own good. It’s a goofy comedy that follows the story of a Canadian woman who might be deported from the U.S.A because of an expired visa. Uh oh. The movie was released in 2009, so this plot had a much more lighthearted air than it might if it were released today. The woman (Bullock) decides to rope her sexy assistant (Reynolds) to pretend to be her fiancé. Of course, things get hot and steamy between them and let’s hope they get hot and steamy for you and your date too.

8. Titanic

Look, this movie is three freaking hours long. You’re not going to pay attention the whole time, guaranteed. Sure, it’s a tragic movie, but it’s also got its share of hot and steamy scenes. The love story is super passionate and there’s absolutely no way someone can watch this movie and not feel like jumping someone else’s bones. Jack and Rose are the couple we all want to be, except for that fateful ending. But their love knows no bounds. 7. The Princess Bride

This goofy romantic comedy film is based on a novel, of the same name, released in 1973. The film, directed by Rob Reiner, was released in 1987 and still holds up today. The love story between Princess Buttercup and farmboy Wesley isn’t the steamiest. But the cute and quirky adventure to save Princess Buttercup will no doubt entertain you and your date. The best part? Mandy Patinkin as Inigo Montoya. Can we just say how hot he is in this movie? That Spanish accent, tho. Young Patinkin can get it. 6. Safety Not Guaranteed

Impress your lady friend with your knowledge of independent films. If you’re not sure what indie film you should choose, we’re here to help. Safety Not Guaranteed is a good choice. It’s a romantic comedy with some sci-fi mixed in. The film was released in 2012 and follows the story of a young intern to gets to know a guy who is seeking a partner for time travelling (to the past). The movie is heartwarming and will leave you thinking. It’s not heavy handed in anyway and we’re sure you and your date will enjoy this rom-com directed by Colin Trevorrow.

5. 50 First Dates

This is probably one of the best Adam Sandler movies out there. It’s goofy, but not too goofy so if your date isn’t an Adam Sandler but you are, you’ll both be happy with this selection. The film follows the story of Lucy (played by the ever charming Drew Barrymore) who suffers from a rare form of amnesia. Each day, her memory resets. It’s a tragic affliction. Every day, the man who seeks to win her over, needs to charm her again. It’s pretty much the most romantic thing ever. You might shed a few tears, but you can softly wipe them away from each other’s cheeks.

4. Pretty In Pink

If you prefer to watch something from the 80s, Pretty In Pink is the best choice for date night. The romantic comedy, released in 1986, follows the story of Andie (played by Molly Ringwald) who’s dealing with her life as an unpopular teenage and begins to date one of the boys from the popular crowd. Even if the movie ends in a ridiculous way and the wrong guy gets the girl, it’s still worth watching. You’ll feel nostalgic for the 80s, even if you weren’t alive then. You’ll feel for Andie and her dilemma and you and your date might just feel a ilttle more romantic after finishing this flick.

3. Cruel Intentions

Looking for something a bit steamier? Sexier? Pop in the Cruel Intentions DVD. The 90s drama features Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon. It follows a group of rich teens (they really look like full grown adults and behave as such) who live in New York City. If you’ve never seen it, we don’t want to ruin it, so we won’t reveal any important plotlines. But rest assured, this movie is filled with hot scenes and the sexual tension is palpable. 2. Magic Mike

Whether it’s the original Magic Mike or Magic Mike XXL, either one is bound to get your date in the mood. Some women don’t love the idea of male strippers but the mere fact that Channing Tatum is taking his clothes off is enough to get a woman to fan herself. The original film was released in 2012 and follows the story of a young man who gets into stripping to make some money. It’s actually very loosely based on Tatum’s earlier life experiences. Yes. 1. Y Tu Mamá También

This is one of the sexiest movies on this list. It’s hard not to get a bit worked up after watching Y Tu Mamá También. The Mexican drama was released in 2001 and tells the coming of age story of two young men. Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal play the two young men who head off on a road trip with an older woman. Sexual tension is high, the sex scenes are hot and the story is deep and introspective. If you want to impress your date and show her you like foreign films, we think this is a good pick. We think you’ll both enjoy it.
