If you don’t know who the Hadid sisters are you’ve been living under a rock! The gorgeous sisters have definitely been one of the highlights of 2017. The oldest sisters, born as Jelena Noura Hadid, but known as Gigi Hadid was born to a Dutch mom, Yolanda, and Palestinian dad, Mohamed Hadid on April 23, 1995. Younger sister, born as Isabella Khair Hadid, was born on October 9, 1996. While the world was introduced to older sister first, baby Bella made her way by joining older sister on the Victoria Secret Infamous Runway.
Many don’t know that the sisters have a brother, Anwar and that they actually get their love of fame from mom (who looks amazing for 53) was featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010. Gigi was discovered at the age of two by Paul Marciano and started out her modeling career with baby Guess. One thing for sure is, the sisters are taking over the modeling world right now.

15. Sisters Take Over

If you don’t know Gigi from the runway, you’ve probably seen her in one of the 6 music videos she’s been a part of, some include, Boyfriend Zayn Malik’s Pillowtalk, Calvin Harris’ How Deep Is Your Love, and Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood. What many don’t know is that the blonde bombshell co-directed the famous DNCE music video, Cake by The Ocean. The two sisters are super close; younger sister Bella said that she is her sister’s biggest fan. The girls come from a very wealthy family, Papa Hadid, who is a real estate agent, owns a 48,000 square foot mansion in Bel Air with 2.2 Acres of Land.

14. Crystal Queen

Younger sister Bella is definitely known to be the one with one who wears more provocative outfits (just google the model and see what we’re talking about.) Bella is the face of Dior and is definitely making them proud. Many people don’t know that her hair is naturally blonde like her sister, but she had dyed it dark brown. The gorgeous model has walked for big names like Chanel, Balmain, Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott. Before modeling, the star studied Photography at the Parson School of design but dropped out to pursue modeling but would love to go back to it. It hasn’t been all peachy for the model, at the age of 17, she was arrested for a DUI. The model had to complete 20 hours of alcoholic’s anonymous and 25 hours of community service.

13. The Angels Are In The Building

This picture was taken at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show where the two made history, being the only sisters to walk the in the show together! Mama Yolanda was definitely so proud posted a picture on Instagram with her two girls, as kids, in angel wings, with the caption, “17 years after I photographer my “ANGELS” Today is the day that they will be walking in the fashion show together.” Gigi got her moment in the show last year, when she walked down the runway, but she was so emotional when her sister joined her this year. As soon as Gigi came out, the camera pans to proud mama who was cheering on the edge of her seat.

12. Lady In Red

Many know that the beautiful model is good friends with Kendall Jenner, but people don’t know that they met way before they both started modeling, when they were about 14 or 15 over Twitter. Bella has also shared that she would love to go into acting in the future, and revealed that modeling has always been Gigi’s thing first. Bella reveals that she dyed her hair black because she’s always had a darker personality than Gigi, and she loves that it whats sets them apart. You’ll be so surprised to believe that the gorgeous model went through a punk phase, dying her hair black and blue and wearing eyeliner.

The stigma is always, models don’t eat, models starve themselves, but the hottie has made it clear that she loves burgers, her motto? “Eat clean to stay fit, eat a burger to stay sane!” We can totally relate to that! 10. Awkward Encounter

We all have exes and we can all attest that seeing them is definitely not fun. Bella and famous singer, Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd, were dating and broke up in 2016. The same year, the hot model got her big break on the Victoria’s Secret Runways, while ex-boyfriend was performing. Many fans took to twitter expressing their thoughts about the awkward situation, one fan tweeted, “Nothing like showing your ex what they’re missing by strutting pas them during the #VSFashionShow LOOKING this good!” Another fan tweeted, “Bella looks at The Weeknd the same way I look at cheese on the last day of a juice cleanse.” The encounter definitely became of the highlights of the show. The Weeknd has since moved on and is now dating popstar, Selena Gomez.

The blonde bombshell is realistic and knows that her modeling career won’t last forever, but she wants to stay in the entertainment industry. Gigi has expressed that would eventually love to have her own talk show or cooking show. In September 2015, the model received a lot of negative comments about her body after she posted a picture of herself walking in the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Week Runway Show claiming she was too skinny. The model replied with a lengthy post, basically saying, “Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs,” and that she is happy with her body, her size and won’t change that for anyone.

We were able to follow Bella home through W Magazine’s lens earlier this year and got to see her mad Jenga skills, her love for Pizza, and her rubber Ducky collection…yes you read that right. Many also, have seen that the Jenner girls are pretty close to the Hadid girls, but did you know that they were sort of related? Hadid’s stepfather was also the stepfather of Brody and Brandon Jenner (Kylie and Kendall’s half brothers), yes it’s super confusing we know! The two sisters have modelled together a number of times, and they have rocked it every time, both have appeared together in issue 13 of Love Magazine, and in 2016, they were on the cover of V Magazine. Both have definitely in mom’s footsteps, who was an international model at a very young age; she was discovered at just the age of 16.

5. Scandalous

Many don’t know that the model was involved in two well known scandals; the more recent one, where she was accused of mocking Asians. A video online was posted of Gigi with friends at an Asian Restaurant, in the background, the model was holding a mini Buddha cookie and squinting her eyes to impersonate his face. The model received crazy backlash and was told by angry social media followers that she is no longer welcome to Victoria’s Secret Show 2017 in Shanghai. Boyfriend Zayn Malik came to her defense, when one Twitter user asks him “Being of Asian descent, how do you feel about your girlfriend making fun of Asian people?” where Malik responds with, “Trust me..she likes asians ;)”

4. We’re Ready For Bed Now

One thing is for sure, Miss Bella is unstoppable! The model was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, but didn’t let that stop her. Older sister Gigi is slightly taller, older sister is 5’10 while Bella is 5’9. The younger model’s first love was horseback riding; she was event raining for the 2016 Olympics, but due to her diagnoses had to step away from that. While publicly speaking about her breakup with the weekend for the first time, she mentioned that her actual first breakup was when she had to sell her favourite horse, Lego. “You develop a crazy, emotional connection with this animal. When you’re riding a horse, they have full control over you, and they can literally kill you in a second, so you build trust with them.” She added.

Gigi was involved in another scandal in 2015, where she was accused of snorting cocaine at a VS Pink Spring Break party in Miami. Cody Simpson, the model’s ex boyfriend took a video of the blondie leaning down on a table, OceanUp, a gossip site, claimed that the model was doing cocaine. Gigi definitely slammed back saying, I would never touch that, it’s not only impossible, but insane to me.” The model added, “I take pride in being a good role model, would never touch that, & will not stand for or put up with a little piece of scum blog like OU.” When you’re in the public eye, you’re bound to hear the weirdest things about yourself.

The VS model shared that Gisele Bündchen is her girl crush, and we totally understand why. Bella is definitely catching up to her idol though, the model has been on Covers such as Elle, Glamour, Allure, and Harper’s Bazaar. Like sister Gigi, Bella too has a thing for musicians, she was in The Weeknd’s In The Night video. When confronted with haters Bella shares, “I’m not saying I don’t love my job, but people think modelling is a bullshit thing to become more famous, I was 100% independent by the time I was 18, and I paid for my own apartment. That wasn’t because of my parents. I worked my ass off for two years.”

Gigi was given her nickname by her mother, Yolanda at a very young age. Both Ladies have middle names from Arabic Origin, Gigi’s middle name, Nora means light, Bella’s middle name, Khair means benevolent. Earlier this year, the model launched her clothing with Tommy Hilfiger. Hilfiger, who has been in the fashion industry for over 30 years, shared on The View that the model “has this Southern California Cool Style, she has probably the largest Social Media following of any model, she has an incredible fan base, but she also stands for great American values, and that’s what my brand is all about.” The designer also shared that she was a lot more involved than people think, “she actually designed with me; choosing the buttons, the fabric, the thread.” When asked how Gigi handles the fame and her busy schedule, she calmly said: “I just take it day by day.”
